saturday was my first time out with the club and i went with the intermediate group and just want to say thanks for having me along. Really enjoyed it and as it was my first time riding in a group i found the dynamics of that seemed to help me along the way physically and mentally. Found the climb out of Rathdrum (i think) a little taxing but other than that it was well within my comfort zone and was suprised to see when finished that the pace was only 23.2kmh for the 2.5 hours. Looking forward to next week.
Hey Keith...... I see you just had your favourite run of the year at the weekend! Not hard I'd say as I'd be fairly sure its also your only run this year!!!!
Seven on the easy ride . Only managed 40 km today because roads were a bit icy.
From Ashford went down coast road to Brittas Bay turned for Jack Whites . had
coffee and scones returned to Ashford along N11 to avoid ice.
Hopefully road conditions will improve soon. Then we can do longer spins.
Eight on spin. Lovely day.Ashford - Wicklow - Arklow - Avoca ( coffee and cakes ). Rathdrum - Glenealy - Ashford.
Distance 63 km. Average Speed 21 km/h.

Four new members on spin. All managed very well.
There was 9 in our group and we headed down the coast road to Arklow, then to Gorey and back finished by going up Deputy's pass and back to Ashford. Approx 95km. Tough day, we really worked hard as a group today with a lot of up and over. I really felt it from about 65km. Legs were shattered, which is good!

The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination.
To the fellow intermediates today. Lost you going up to the sally gap. I know my limits and believe me the sally gap isn't within it yet. I had to turn around at the 5km to go sign and rolled back down towards roundwood until a rear wheel puncture halted my tracks. Anyways i'll leave the gap until later in the summer perhaps.
