We will be commencing our “New to Tri” spins this Saturday, we are encouraging members of the club who have never been out on a Saturday spin to come along and give it a go, we will be keeping the distance relatively short (25km to 30km) and the pace will be fairly handy, the only think you need is a working bike (Hybrid, Road bike etc) and coffee money
As part of the spin, we will cover off the fundamentals of riding in a group.
The cycle will commence at 10.00am in Ashford, outside Chester Beatty’s pub and should be about 1.5hrs.
Really sorry to miss this. Really wanted to give it a go. I could do with all the help I can get. Hopefully by the time the marathon is out of the way they distance on the spins won't be too high for me..
It was great to see 3 new faces on the beginners spin this morning, Janine, Lynn and Be, we had a leisurely spin down to Brittas (38km) & did a few up and overs on the way back.
Lynn will be moving up to John's group next week & hopefully we will see a few more new faces next week.
Hi Colm. I have a friend who is thinking of joining wtc and would like to give the new to tri group a go first. Is it ok for her to turn up on Saturday and join in the spin? Any idea yet what the route will be? She is strong and fit and my guess is, that unlike me, she will be moving up the groups quickly. I plan to get back to the Saturday spins soon but not free for the next couple of weeks.
That's fine, Dave Gillespie will be leading the New to Tri group on Saturday, the spin will be about 35km & fairly flat, I am not sure what the route will be as yet, but I will post it up on the forum on Thursday evening.
