Folks, just a reminder that there will be no Turbo tomorrow night, instead there will be bike interval training, led by John Darcy. Meeting at the Applegreen at 6.45pm, ready to go at 7.00pm.

Colm any idea of the format of these sessions? Are they long spins or would slow people like me who can't seem to stay on the bike and not fall off be able to keep up? I don't mind not being able to keep up if they are loops as I will catch up (or get lapped) eventually!

Thanks!

Hi Audrey.....these sessions are short bursts on the flat , in small groups each rider taking a 1 min turn at front, each interval only takes about 3-4 mins !

@Audrey:
I hope to cycle down and back this evening but may have trouble getting back from work in time. I will post here in good time if I am NOT going to make it. Otherwise I would hope to leave the Newtownmountkennedy north underpass outside The Garden Village housing estate (J12 on the N11 south) at approximately 18:15. Applegreen is only 15 mins or so from here at NTT pace so plenty early.
Light fades quite fast after 20:30 so would hope to be back at Newtown North by 20:45 in terms of getting home safely.

Having tried this last week I have spent the last few days telling club members how much fun these short intervals are. They are fast single pace-line efforts with one minute intervals each on the front as Paul says. Exciting if nothing else!

Don't be put off however if you are nervous as the groups are well matched for ability and pace from new to tri right up to the very strongest Time Trial experts. The whole effort is very short so if you are dropped, you will pick up an other group but in any case, will turn back after only about 5km to "recover" back to Applegreen.
