Wow - the hardest 100k i have ever ridden (so far  )
Arrived for the start in sunshine-became cloudy and cool- by the time we got to start climb to sally gap , the rain and wind gods were making there presence felt and it was getting much colder as we gained height - at this stage there seemed to be a lot of cyclists coming back down the hill- conditions got worse -just grinding up to the gap in lowest gear struggling against the wind, fingers gone numb and mist closing in- near the top had to walk-couldn't make headway on bike against the wind- struggled through the potholes on the road(make that lunar craters !)on down through roundwood ,annamoe,to laragh to thaw frozen fingers, load up with tea, chocs, gel, banana. still shivering a bit from the cold.Despite a mass exodus to warm vans transporting cyclists back to start decided to plough on with new cycling pal de jour jerry warming up on climb to wicklow gap- thankfully with the wind now at our backs we eventually made it back to Blessington by 4.30- a long day at the office!! slow but got it finished eventually :cheer: :cheer:

Hats off to you Paul. That's some achievement. Had planned to do this until I saw the forecast for today and chickened out.

It was bad enough for us today and we only got as high as Shay Elliot and were very glad to get home after about 60k (plus some had to cycle back to Greystones etc.

Well done again.
