Thanks everyone for the great support yesterday. It was great to see so many familiar faces. The weather was near perfect which was a big surprise considering the reports. For me, I had a great race. I started out steady and was able to keep the same pace throughout. Strangely my last few kilometers were my fastest. I Finished in 3.15 which was 12 minutes faster than Dublin two years ago.

How did everybody else get on?

I'll echo that, great turnout of WTC blue in support.

Had a great race met my target and the support really helped us all along. Mike even told me Karen was slightly ahead so we ran together for a bit and tho Marie told me Darren was ahead near the end our paths didn't cross until we caught up at the finish line. I never thought I could do a marathon but it just goes to show. One step in front of the other and knowing it could be worse ... a cold swim to start!

I spotted Mike, Wendy, Annie, Dave, Marie, Cliona, Nicola, Lisa, Mick, Paula on the route. i'm sure there were more. Fair play to Marie forcing jelly tots into everyone's mouth of course you're too weak by the closing stages to say no. And Dave for his supportive texts as always!

Add to the list of supporters, thanks to Noelie, Cara, Vivienne, Dom, Paul, Eamonn, Jamie, Caoimhe, Pete and many more who I heard but didn't get to see as I stared at the long road ahead
