Looks like there will be a good crew running so. Only 2 weeks to go now.

I'm trying to raise a few quid for charity in the process of doing the marathon.

The charity I’m running for is an initiative called ‘Bumbleance’. Their vision is to provide improved and professional medical transportation services for long-term sick and seriously disabled children, who require professional ambulance transportation. They will transport children in a fun environment from the far reaches of Ireland, both urban and rural, to their treatment centres.

Bumbleance was founded by Tony and Mary Heffernan whose two children, Saoirse and Liam, were born with Battens Disease, a rare fatal neurological condition. Saoirse passed away in 2011 and Liam is currently undergoing treatment for the condition. They saw from personal experience the stress travelling in an ambulance caused their children when travelling from rural Ireland to treatment centres. They want Bumbleance to make this journey as safe, comfortable and entertaining as possible for children and their families.

Further information can be viewed at www.bumbleance.com .

If you would like to contribute you can do so by donating at my fundraising page www.idonate.ie/marathonforbumbleance .

Any contribution you could make would be so gratefully received.

Thanks in advance
John Mercer
