It's a great weekend, I unfortunately can't go this year as I'll be divorced if I miss another round of Dub Shed (car show)!!

Colm, can't believe you're still thinking of that massive scone you wolfed down in front of all us tired hungry ladies!!! Suppose you did deserve it after changing ALL of my punctures.....bring plenty of spare tubes and gas with you if you're going down!!!

Hi guys

Just a little reminder about the training weekend in Coolattin, that the committee is hoping to organise for March 27th - 29th. If anyone else would like to sign up, then either post a reply here or email WicklowTri@gmail.com.

We only have a provisional reservation at the moment, so if people could let us know within the next 3 or 4 days, that'd be great. As we haven't had many replies so far, we may need to look at rescheduling if numbers remain low.

A few people have mentioned to us that they'd love to go, but they're not free that particular weekend, so if you'd be interested in attending on an alternative date (potentially in May), then let us know.

Thanks :)

Hi all

Unfortunately we haven't been able to get sufficient numbers for the Coolattin training weekend to go ahead at the end of March, so we've had to cancel it. We'll hopefully look at organising it at a later date though, if enough people are interested.

Thanks

Hi guys

You may remember that the committee tried to organise a club training & social weekend in Coolattin Lodge last March, however as the date didn't suit a lot of people, the event didn't go ahead. We mentioned that we'd look at reorganising it for a later date, so the weekend that we're proposing is Oct 9th -> 11th. All the racing will be finished by then, so we figured it could be a nice opportunity for some easy spins to keep the legs ticking over, with some well deserved food & drinks in the evening as a reward for all our hard work this year.

For now, we're just trying to gauge if enough members would be interested in taking part. For some of the newer members who haven't been to Coolattin before, I've included some further details below.

It's always a great weekend, with lots of laughs and the training can be as easy or hard as you want to make it. So if you'd like to come along, then please let us know by replying to this post or emailing wicklowTri@gmail.com.

Thanks :)

For those who haven't been before, it's a fantastic training & social weekend away. The main event is a long cycle (80km - 100km) on the Saturday morning around the Mount Leinster region, with a shorter route options for those who don't fancy spending that long in the saddle. There'll be a coffee/lunch-stop along the way too. Sunday morning will often be a short bike spin followed by a 10km trail run.

It's just as much about the social side of things though, with the group cooking & eating together in the houses on both evenings, along a few (sometimes too many!) bottles of beer and wine. A trip to the local pub in Shillelagh is usually squeezed in as well ;)

In terms of cost, it will vary depending on how many people sign up and how much food is purchased, but it's likely to be in the region of €70 - €85 per person for the accommodation, with a further €20ish to cover your food (breakfasts & dinners) and utilities. Once we've a list of interested attendees, we'll be looking for your accommodation payment in advance, otherwise last-minute drop-outs would just cause the prices to be hiked for everyone else in the group.
