I have decided after many years of avoiding, to go for an Olympic distance triathlon and have signed up for Lough Cutra in May. Does anybody have a typed up training plan that I could try and follow. I need to get my runs past 5km and I am planning to continue with the Saturday cycles. (Thanks John for today...
It was a tough new2tri cycle!)

Now I have no excusesâ˜ș

Yeay! Go for it. I used the Time Crunched Triathlete training plan for my standard distance - 8 week plan - on a solid base. Happy to pass on the book at swimming etc. I used Joe Friel's 'Your Best Triathlon' for the half over the last few years which has the whole year mapped out for sprint, standard, half and full. Highly recommend that book.

Hey Wendy

I just emailed you one that Eamonn Tilley shared with the club a few years ago. Best of luck .... it'll be no bother to you :)

Hi Wendy,
Just a minor warning that when we did the olympic race a couple of years ago the swim was about 1900m and the bike was about 45km but that shouldn't make any major difference to your race.

Its a nice race.

Good luck with the training.
