I've transferred my entry from Austria to Wales after having to take 8 weeks off the bike with knee issues, but I don't know anyone who's done it- I think there are a few from the club who have.

Just looking for a bit of insight, my other alternative is to bail completely and focus on Lanza next year, is the course really as bad as I've been warned? Race reports are few and far between. I'm far from a mountain goat, at least with Lanza I'm guaranteed a tan!

Also, in a desperate attempt to get bike fit again now that I have the all clear, I'm biking most Tuesdays and Fridays after work, leaving Amphibian King Bray just after 6 in case anyone wants to tow me!

Talk to Brendan Borland, he's done IM Wales

hilly bike course, and a lottery regarding weather conditions....

be a great warm up race for Lanza

Oonagh / Niall give me a shout anytime if you want any insights to IM Wales - I did the inaugural race in 2011 in windy enough conditions .... not sure what "bad" reports you're getting about the bike course but I would describe it more as a small sharp hilly and quite a technical course as opposed to a mountainous slog (if that makes sense). Mind you, I haven't done other IMs to compare it to - except the Lanza bike course which I rode in March - comparable but different. I've all the detailed maps etc. if you need them for the recce. ..... more than happy to have a chat / meet up (working in Greystones these days) if you want the low-down ... My number is a nóid a hocht a sé 816 0322 or email brendan.borland@gmail.com

I'm also having a go at the Wales IM. Any tips or advice would be great.

Conor
