carrick is a great race
The swim is all down river, and pretty quick.
You can lie back and let the current take you down.

The bike is undulating, but not hilly.
Te run is good, out the main road, and back by the river.

it is a great fun race, and brilliant for the nervous swimmers :cheer:

Hi Brian,

I did this race last year. A nice race. Agree with Conor on all counts. The swim is a doddle!!

Hi Brian

Did this last year, small race with the transition right beside swim exit, bike exit, run exit, the whole area is smalll and compact on grass,

Its a small village type atmosphere, totally differnt to the large Athlone event, a great experience and hihly recommended,

Like conor said , swim is off the bank 750m upstream and straight to the finnish, no turns, theres a ramp to get out and they have helpers to pull you up,very easy.
