did it last year even though i was a sick as a pike. nice course and good organisation but I hated every second of it on account of wanting to lie down puke/sleep most of the time. The 10k run felt like 20k. We booked a house out the road and cycled in to the start on the morning of the race. Brought the kids down and made a long weekend of it - cracking weather (which I hear is unusual) so did enjoy hanging out with the kids and building sandcastles What's the cost this year?
I've done HOTW the past 2 years Michael and I stayed in a B&B called Nolans both times. We were well looked after there and it's a very short walk to the town. Moore Bay Holiday Homes are convenient too, if a large group of people are heading down and if you want the option of self-catering. I know a few people stayed in the Kilkee Bay Hotel last year, but they felt it was a tad overpriced for what they got. I'd definitely advise booking somewhere early though. It's a really popular race and accommodation fills up quickly. Lots of people have ended up in Lahinch or Ennis because everywhere in Kilkee had booked up. It's a great race though ... you'll love it
