There are a few new club members I am not sure I would recognise yet so just wondering if you guys that are doing Athy all know each other? It is a real fiesta event with lots of noise and plenty of hustle-bustle and huge crowds of competitors and supporters. Very easy I guess to suffer a bit of stage fright racking up and setting out your transition, moving to and from briefings and swim starts etc.
Any sort of company on the day has to be a good thing but that said Michael has put a lot of effort into the open water and transition already and there is a really good buzz around new to tri this year so by comparison with your peers you're all well able for it!
Should be a great day with plenty of club interest!

Supposedly doing the double olympic - still need to see if I can avoid work. No club tri gear on me but I will recognisable as the dude puking in the corner and having to lie down every 2km on the run.
Ignore my previous advice about having to get there crazy-early to get a good rack - judging by the race briefing it's a numbered bike-rack this year! So your rack will be determined by the last 3 letters of your race number. Good news if you ask me!
By the way, if anyone doing the Sprint is particularly stressed-out or worried about setting up their transition area and feels like they've forgotten something, I'm happy to help out if you come find me. I'll be wearing my WicklowTri colours!
