After two consecutive weekends of triathlon action more racing is probably the last thing on anybody's mind! But...
Wednesday 26th is round three of the 2015 WTC/Amphibian King Bray Aquathon series but more importantly* it is the second round of the WTC Juniors/Amphibian King series. The first race we hosted in Bray last June was a complete success despite the kids having to swim along the shore through the surf. It goes without saying that this simply wouldn't have happened without the generous help from all of you.
Once again the race committee will appeal for help with the senior aquathon and I apologise here for pitching in early on behalf of the juniors. We do need quite a lot of help with the junior race so please, if you can help just let myself or Lisa Bishop or Conor MacGowan know that you can help and in what capacity.
We will need a
1. Water safety/marshals team
Kayak Pilots x 4
Wet-suited water marshals
Swim entry/exit marshals and counters
2. Transition Marshal + helper
Helper x 1
3. Run safety/marshals team
Run course marshal x 4 (or so)
Finish area supervisor
The Junior race waves must start at 6:00pm sharp to ensure that volunteers are free in time to tog-out for the club aquathon. Anybody who can help, please do! We promise not to mess up your race and as a little bonus, Junior run marshals get to warm up for the race on the course. Marshals briefing at 5:30
Thanks to Michael P, Rodolfo, and Joe Mo for offering already. Anybody else who can help please post here or speak to myself, Lisa B. or Conor MacG.
For those of you who'd like to help out with the junior race but also race in the senior race, that is entirely possible (assuming we get enough marshals for the senior race of course). I certainly hope to race in the senior race after helping out with the junior race.
In terms of marshalling the senior race, could you please reply below and let me know if you are available and at what time you expect to be there for. Because the junior race is happening first, most of the set-up will be done already, so we mostly need people who are available to marshal the race itself. No experience is necessary, we just need bodies out on the course to ensure that the race runs smoothly. Thanks in advance!
