Results – 2017 Junior Beast of the East
Once again Greystones in Co Wicklow was treated to a veritable exhibition of triathlon when over 140 triathletes descended on the town for the Junior Beast of the East event. Four age based waves took part in different distance of the Swim-Cycle-Run course with competitors from every corner of Ireland, north and south and even a representative from CA Perigueux triathlon club in France… bienvenue Samuel!
Swim conditions were good with just a rolling swell making sighting a challenge but equal for all competitors. One or two showers meant some extra caution on the bike course but the superb race venue once again suiting the race perfectly. The compact 1km per lap bike course is popular with competitors and spectators alike making spectator support an integral part of the race.
The talent on display across all race waves was superb and a slick demonstration of the sport was delivered to the people of Greystones walking on the busy promenade. We offer congratulations to the many triathletes who completed their first race and to those who placed in the various age categories.
Below is a summary of the race wave results and a few images from the post race celebrations.
