Every summer Coach John Darcy hosts the John Darcy Classic TT – also called the Mountain TT. But don’t let that put you off!

The fastest riders take off last so we aim to have all participants finish at the same time. Please review the rules below and in case of new members please check the maps! There have been a few cyclists who have taken the wrong turn…

Remember, the roads are not closed for this event so please follow the standard rules of the road. We will have two volunteers to time the riders but besides that – there are NO MARSHALLS!! It is up to the participant to know the route. Any variations of the route will lead to an automatic DQ.

The route:

Participants leave from Ashford School at 8am sharp, be there 10 minutes before your allocated start time. The route goes up the cullenmore bends and onto the N11 at the apple green. Riders stay on the N11 until Kilmacanogue and take the long hill directly into Roundwood, then Annamoe and Laragh. From Laragh riders go straight to Rathdrum through the vale of Clara. When entering Rathdrum take the steep hill straight into Rathdrum (The turn at the raven statue). Then its the main road back to Glenealy, turning at Milltown Lane and finishing at the bus stop before Ashford Avoca. You should see our timekeepers waiting there.
Reminder Rules of the Road apply and No Drafting – Drafting is cheating!

And lastly remember to enjoy!
