Guys, a big well done to Darragh Phelan on his win on wednesday night in the Aura trophy in wicklow harbour. A great race only won by the length of a hand.
Get used to the sight of the beach Darragh as you will be back with the back markers for the rest of the season ! :P
Rose and Eilish also completed their first race in a field of almost 100.

Great stuff Darragh.

+2 mins on the handicap on Sunday!!

On the positive side you have the folowing:
  • Time for a coffee after we go off...
  • More time to get to know Dermot, Rose, Scott & Gavin a bit better...
  • A nice clear swim as after the first 50 metres there will be no-one around you...
  • A chance to get to know the boatmen as they keep you company on the solo swim...
  • You get to bring in the finishing buoy as you pass it...

Big well done to our WSC newbies on their first race. The handicaps will be adjusted downwards after the first one or two.......years! ;)

Well I hope they don't adjust my handicap for all the reasons Mike mentioned above.

Lovely clear water except for the waves created by Bullet boy and King Kealy (did not have him wed but will be same as Bullet Boy when he comes down)as they fly past....don't even think of trying to catch feet...they go past so fast you miss them in a blink!

Boat men are super friendly and any eejit left out there waiting for the clock to tick by is great amusement to them so is a two way street

Never got to bring in the bouy but my arms were so wrecked trying to catch a swimmer...any swimmer ....don't think I would have managed to haul a bouy back!

Was great fun....always love a challenge!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Rose, he probably won't change your handicap for a few weeks but daragh's screwed! He'll be back with the speedy groups....
