June may have a mobile number for Elaine in Naughton's, the pub with the nice food and the crowd out into the middle of O'Curry Street. If there is an appetite for any of this let me know and we can ring ahead and ask as these two are friends since they were kids?
Otherwise for a much quieter but very high quality steak/seafood restaurant I have to plug "The Long Dock" in Carrigaholt. About 10 mins from Kilkee (on the shannon estuary side of loop head). Reasonably priced and very, very nice. It is also possible to take a long-cut to Carrigaholt along the "Dunlicky Road" to recce the run route if that appeals to anybody not already chastened by the lumps!
if there's 2 of me does that mean i have a better chance of not being last i wonder?!
Martina-i also LOVE running....and especially running UP hills too i thought that what i lost on the uphill i could gain on the downhill....but i have noticed i aint that good at running DOWN hills either!
Am happy to go with the flow and eat wherever you guys want to.
If Elaine would be kind enough to book Naughton's that would be great Garry and there will definitely be takers - Teasy, Anne McG (currently lost on a kibbutz!!) and me and I'm sure others will join in....and Heidi be warned...when you pass me on the hills I will be lodging a complaint...I'm sure you are fuelled x 2 times red blood cells ergo more oxygen & ergo more energy...I'm not bitter
Eamonn Tilley had us running backwards up the hill last Tuesday and I tried it in Mullaghmore and it works just make sure there is no one ahead of you - there will probably be men in white coats looking for WTC people after the race when the see us all going uphill backwards!!!!!!
